I saw in Riot/Matrix there is the option to do direct calls from one person to another, and these should also be encrypted. This works okay but we would prefer if there is a way to make voice calls without an extra Jitis instance or app. We also installed a Jitsi instance for our current Rocket Chat server and linked them together. We don`t have real senstivie data we share, we just want to be private and would prefer a good E2EE encryption for text (and if possible calls).ģ) Besides chatting and sending files, we mainly need voice calls. Is this because of the missing SSL connection or can this have a differnent reason?Ģ) How good/safe is the E2EE of Rocket Chat compared to Riot/Matrix? The Riot/Matrix E2EE looks a lot more advanced. I have a few questions I would really appreciate your help with:ġ) Our biggest problem is that we were not able to get the SSL certificate (with Lets Encrypt) to work properly.īecause we don`t have a proper SSL connection, I think we are also not able to activate the E2E encryption, we always get the error "Undefined" when E2EE is enable in a chat. We have already setup a Rocket Chat server and it is running quite smooth. We are currently looking to switch from Discord to either Rocket Chat or Riot/Matrix.
